DermaPen Stretch Mark Removal

DermaPen stretch mark removal has not always been around. For a long time, the best way to deal with stretch marks was prevention. Many pregnant women applied creams and lotions every day to help minimize this unsightly skin condition, with varying degrees of success. But, unfortunately, taking great care of your skin is not always enough. And then there are those individuals who lose massive amounts of weight who were never pregnant. It can be hard to prevent stretch marks when you have no reason to anticipate them.

Thanks to advances in medical technology, stretch marks can be safely and effectively removed, without the need for surgery. Here at Vascular Medicine Center, Dr. Shah uses the revolutionary Dermapen to make your skin smooth and unblemished again. Contact us today to learn more about this easy stretch mark removal procedure.

How the Dermapen Works

The Dermapen is able to erase the appearance of stretch marks through the science of collagen induction therapy (CIT). The process relies on your body’s own natural collagen production to repair the damaged cells and grow new, healthy skin. Using a fragmented delivery of fractional micro needles, the Dermapen spurs the body’s ability to repair the skin.

Stretch Mark Removal using Collagen Induction Therapy

CIT works in phases:

  • Phase One: The skin is injured using the micro needles. The bleeding and platelet release during this phase stimulates the release of growth factors. These include epidermal growth, fibroblast chemo-taxis, fibroblast proliferation, and matrix production.
  • Phase Two: Growth factors continue to proliferate. Fibroblasts, keratinocytes, moncytes, and collagen are produced. This leads to a process called angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels.
  • Phase Three: This is the culmination of the process, where the new skin takes its final shape and becomes tighter because of the presence of new collagen, which forms the skin’s underlying matrix.

What Are Stretch Marks?

As the name suggests, stretch marks form as the result of the skin becoming stretched, typically because of weight gain. Hormonal changes and muscle building can also cause them to form. Stretch marks are a form of scarring. When the skin stretches, the dermis tears and becomes discolored. As a result, treatments like the Dermapen that are great for healing damaged tissue are also perfect for treating stretch marks. And because the scar tissue is replaced with healthy skin, the results are permanent (barring future weight fluctuations or hormonal changes).

comma-1 I have been a patient of Doctor Shah’s for almost a decade. I heard about him through an Action News segment on advanced vein technology. Dr Shah was on the cutting edge of vein treatments. He has researched, tested and discussed with colleagues worldwide the best treatment care available for patients. He customizes each vein procedure – based on patient issues. He has various minimally invasive treatments for large Varicose veins and he uses Endovenous laser ablation treatment and micro-phlebectomy and for spider veins he uses Sclerotherapy in his protocol -because not all veins are created equal !!!

Genuine, kind, brilliant, conscientious and thorough are some ways to describe him. He truly wants each patient to have legs to be pain free and healthy to live life in a mindful way. His staff reflects these ideals as well.

Veins … They are problems for some of us –based on heridity and usage in life … And I am fortunate to have found a caring and excellent Doctor to take charge and send those veins away!! We tease each other – that he wants us all to have Cinderella legs — and that’s better than a glass slipper any day ! comma-2
